Here's a list of names of those deemed as slaves referenced in insurance policies prior to 1865 the official year slavery allegedly ended. Though the State of California claimed that it was not involved with the Trans-Atlantic slave trade there's concrete evidence that confirms that major insurance companies with offices in Calif. functioned and profited from the monies collected pursuant to insurance policies established on those deemed as slaves in the US... What's further interesting is, based on being considered as chattel, many if not most did not have last names...
