Though Rosa Parks received national attention for refusing to sit on the back of a public bus in Montgomery, Al in December of 1955, Aurelia Browder protested in the same way in April of 1955. Unfortunately, the societal and political climate at that time was not ready to push for new legislation. This is a "must acknowledge" fixture in African History...
